This seminar will be held in English.

According to the Informatik Prüfungsordnung you will be working on a scientific research topic in your Bachelor or Master-Thesis. You will also have to present the results of your work verbally and in writing. The conclusion and ultimate validation of your thesis as a scientific piece of work is a possible publication at an academic conference or in a journal. (Your professor certainly would like this!) This seminar will help you gain the skills necessary to perform research work (and then some).

• The publication process: Reviews, program committees, journals

• Networking in science: Conferences, self-marketing, social software

• Getting a job in research: Job market, job interview
  

You are expected to read about one paper for each session.
