Inhalt:

The miniprojects are research projects that are carried out by the student in a research group of a lecturer involved in MAP or one of the constituent departments at FAU. Under supervision and guidance of a supervisor, the student conducts a scientific study on a current research topic within the chosen research group. This study includes a review of current literature on the chosen topic, the planning and execution of experiments to expand existing knowledge and the critical interpretation and discussion of the results of the study in a written project report.

Lernziele und Kompetenzen:

The student who successfully participates in this module • is able to read and critically analyse scientific literature to familiarize himself with a scientific research field • identifies weaknesses or gaps of knowledge in a scientific research field • postulates hypotheses and plans experiments to address the gap of knowledge • conducts and protocols the experiments in the laboratory • critically analyses the results of the experiments and sets them in context with existing literature • summaries and discusses the experiments in a written scientific report
