Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Training: Synthesizing Acceptance and Change
As a part of this class, participants will learn the core content of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills and learn how to apply DBT strategies to DBT skills training groups. Specifically, the class will review the four sets of DBT skills: core mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. The class will highlight how these skills dialectically balance acceptance and change. Examples will review how to use DBT strategies to teach the skills including didactic strategies, modeling, and role play.
