- Inhalt
- Postcolonial African literature in English offers a great variety of subjects and authors. This course will introduce students to the literary history of colonial and postcolonial literature, key concepts of postcolonial theory, the socio-political consequences of colonialism and the struggle for political and cultural independence in post-colonial countries. The range of representative, yet relatively unknown, authors to be read will include Chinua Achebe, Ngugi wa Thiong’o, Wole Soyinka, Ama Ata Aidoo, Bessie Head, Nuruddin Farah and others.

Students are expected to give a short presentation.
