- Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches
- Das Zwischenmodul I: Thematisches Kombinationsmodul gehört zum Studiengang BA English and American Studies (neu). Zulassungsvoraussetzung: Basismodul Linguistics und Basismodul Literature. Dieses spezielle Thematische Kombinationsmodul kann in den Studienrichtungen British Studies, Cultural Studies, General Studies oder Linguistics belegt werden.
- Inhalt
- This interdisciplinary module will explore British TV and film from the perspectives of both cultural studies and linguistics. A focus will be on British broadcast TV: We will analyse selected episodes of three "Britcoms", Fawlty Towers, Absolutely Fabulous and Coupling, and the BBC-miniseries Pride and Prejudice. In addition, we will look at one film: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Two sessions (4 hours) each week.
The Linguistics session will be on Wed., 14:15-15:45.
Two Cultural Studies sessions are on offer: Either Wed., 16:15-17:45 or Wed. 18:00-19:30. After registering, send an email to Christian Krug and let us know which session you would like to attend.
