- Das PS Linguistics gehört in folgenden Studiengängen jeweils zu folgenden Modulen:
BA English and American Studies (neu): Zwischenmodul II Linguistics. (Zulassungsvoraussetzung: Basismodul Linguistics) Lehramt Englisch an Grund-, Haupt- und Realschulen (neu): Seminarmodul L-UF Linguistics. (Zulassungsvoraussetzung: Elementarmodul Linguistics)
- Inhalt
- In this seminar we will deal with linguistic constructions and patterns on various levels. Starting off with the more item-specific patterns, such as collocations and idioms, we will discuss a selection of approaches towards phraseological phenomena reaching from statistical definitions to psycholinguistic theories. In the second part of the course we will have a closer look at syntactical analyses, like the familiar CGEL by Quirk et al. (1985), valency based approaches (Herbst/Schüller 2008) and Construction Grammar (Goldberg 2006). After a short introduction to the various approaches, we will focus on how they treat phraseological phenomena and test their practical value on a sample of sentences. The last part of course will be dedicated to aspects like the description of phraseological and syntactical constructions within grammars and dictionaries as well as in language learning and teaching.
