- Over the past 20 years or so, monolingual dictionaries for learners have improved dramatically as a result of the use of large-scale computer corpora. In this seminar, we will look at these treasure-troves of the language in detail, both in their printed and electronic versions. The focus will be on monolingual dictionaries for advanced learners with an A-Z structure, but we will also compare them to bilingual dictionaries, learners' thesauruses, and specialised dictionaries of various kinds.
