Die Reihenfolge des Bewerbungseingangs spielt bei der Verteilung auf die Projekte keine Rolle. Die Teilnehmerzahl ist auf 15 begrenzt.
- Inhalt
- In this project, we will work together with the performer Lindy Annis (http://www.lindyannis.net) in search of the body language of emotions. We will explore museums, archives, public places, books, newspapers, magazines, the internet, and our own daily lives, collecting gestures, poses and body images of all kinds of emotions. We will share, compare, discuss, try on and try out what we find. What does it mean to perform and embody emotions we find in historically distant images of art history or in our friend’s Facebook account? Are they related? Where does the idea of a performative inventory of emotions lead us? How can we enact the archive of emotions? How can performance be understood as a method of thinking or research?
This project is inspired by the art historian Aby Warburg’s work on emotions in art and the afterlife of images. We will use an introductory reading, watch some DVDs, look at a lot of images, take a lot of photographs, explore our own body language and work with the forms of installation and performance. We will start with individual projects and then develop small group projects with the possibility of a presentation on the last evening of the seminar.
