Participants will discuss timely topics in “public finance and development” bridging the
gap between academic research and real-world politics. The seminar starts with a
keynote lecture by a GIZ expert. Students from Erlangen, Nürnberg and Dresden
present their papers on the topics mentioned below. Each student discusses one of the
contributed papers with respect to policy implications. GIZ supplements the discussion
with case studies. Introductory literature is mentioned below, but students are supposed
to research related work. The venue of the seminar is the GIZ congress center in
Leipzig-Zschortau.
Basic Information:
Venue: GIZ congress center Leipzig-Zschortau. Accommodation is available for
39EUR per night and can be funded partially by the organizers. Traveling costs have to be covered by the students. Papers should not be longer than 15 pages of text (the limit for team work is 25 pages). Deadline for submissions: 5. May, 2014. Presentations are limited to 30 minutes. Each student prepares a discussion (10 minutes) on one of the other contributions with respect to policy implications.
