- General Information:
Due to a restructuring of the courses this semester, the previously available “General English for Natural Scientists” course will no longer be offered. The material for that course has been expanded and divided up to form two new courses, of which this is one (the other being “Written English for Scientists”). Those who have previously taken the course “General English for Natural Scientists” do not need to retake either of these new courses.Assessment:

- Course Description:
This general course in scientific English is aimed at students of all scientific disciplines and does not concentrate on particular fields of study within the sciences.
Topics covered include:
Presenting scientific ideas. How to run and partake in questions and answers sessions. Formulating and responding to argument. Note taking and summary. Pseudo-science. Science and tradition/culture/religion. Making science accessible. Science’s role in the world.
