- Inhalt
- The fiction of Ian McEwan, one of the most eminent and successful contemporary British authors, is characterized by its focus on the human condition, its exploration of the normal and the abnormal state of human existence. Taking a few early short stories as a starting point, we will look at three of McEwan’s more recent novels and discuss some of the most important topics of contemporary literature and McEwan’s writing in particular: the relationship between reality and narrative, arts and sciences, sex and violence, moral responsibility and guilt, politics and aesthetics, postmodern and contemporary writing.
Students are expected to give a short presentation.
