Empfohlene Voraussetzungen:

Recommended: One of the courses offered by the Chair, such as e.g., Upper-limb Prosthetics or Intent Detection and Feedback. This module can be used as Academic Lab/Hochschulpraktikum (M6.1) in the Master's program Medical Engineering.

Inhalt:

  • Hands on signal processing: Gathering and storing signals, analysing them with Matlab / Python, statistical analysis, plotting and meaningfully visualising your data.
  • Hands on software: The interactiveMyocontrol (iM-Blocks) suite, peculiarities, open problems, architecture. Building your own signal interpretation and processing environment, connecting ot with robotic hardware in the lab and/or virtual reality.

  • Hands on user studies: properly designing, carrying out and evaluating a user study in RAR.

  • Hands on hardware: Using the robotic platforms in the lab to achieve better control, more human-friendly interaction, more proficient therapies.

  • Hands on 3D printing, mechanical design and electronics: Designing and creating small helper devices, improving on existing platforms, better physical interaction with the human body.

Lernziele und Kompetenzen:

Students who have carried out this internship

  • have a practical understanding of Rehabilitation and Assistive Robotics, the motivations, problems, and challenges

  • can conceive and design research-related software and hardware for RAR

  • have knowledge about the clinical and industrial situation in RAR and possibly have been in contact with a patient, gaining some insight in the clinical situation
