Contents
This introductory course presents a survey of the main fields of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. We will refer to important principles underlying second language learning and we will discuss the different purposes, participants, practices, competences, areas and contexts of language teaching, learning and use. We will explore contemporary and more traditional approaches to foreign language teaching such as task-based language learning, content and language integrated learning, the grammar-translation method and audio-lingualism.
