- Zur Info: Aushang zum Sommersemester 2012
- Inhalt

- Contents
- This lecture deals with the joint operation of active integratable components such as diodes and transistors with planar waveguides in
integrated detectors, mixers, amplifiers, oscillators, attenuators, switches and phase shifters. Their physical principles of operation will
be discussed in relation to the application and the significant electrical assembly characteristics will be introduced. Lecture topics are
quadratic detection, parametric theory of the resistive diode mixer, stability, gain and low noise operation of transistor amplifiers as
well as optimum choosing of circuit topology and resonator type for oscillators. The monolithic integrated microwave circuit (MMIC)
combines all advantages of passive and active planar structures on gallium arsenide substrates. During the whole course students are intensively working with the CAD software ADS from Agilent, learning its theoretical background and experiencing its possibilities and limits.
